May 12, 2026: Ira L. Savetsky, MD PLLC is providing this notice of a data privacy incident involving the protected health information, or PHI, of certain patients for whom we are unable to locate addresses.
What Happened: On January 14, 2026, we discovered a potential incident in our email environment. Upon discovery, we took immediate action to secure our email accounts and retained cybersecurity professionals to investigate. As part of the investigation, we learned that a single email account of an employee had been accessed in an unauthorized manner and that some data in the account had been potentially obtained between November 2024 and January 2026. On April 13, 2026, we determined that some PHI was in the email account, as described below.
What Information Was Involved: The PHI included patient first and last names in combination with scheduling information and other information patients emailed to our office.
What We Are Doing: We reported the incident to the Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights and to law enforcement.
What You Can Do: As a general matter, it is best practice to remain vigilant for incidents of identity theft and fraud, from any source, by reviewing your credit reports and account statements for suspicious activity and errors. If you discover any suspicious or unusual activity on your accounts, promptly contact your financial institution or service provider.
